Waldo got me all jacked on his boat build, so I figured I'd share mine! I just bolted on the control box minutes ago. Still a couple tweaks to go, but I'm takin it to Pigeon Lake tomorrow, we are gonna be there for bass opener on Sat!

Before I start, huge shout out to @Waldo peters , he helped me out along the way with all my dumb questions. I'm not as handy as he is, but I do like boats.

I picked this mamma jamma up at the end of last summer, a 1958 Arkansas Traveler, 14.5 ft side console. All wood was rotten, so I pulled it and replaced it. 20170829_132249.jpg20170829_132401.jpg20180303_101621.jpg

It had an old cable and puller steering system, and mouse nests in the benches. Once I gutted everything, I replaced the transom and prepped rivets/seams for a marine epoxy sealer, and then I prepped hull surfaces for painting.

I also made decks before I started working on the hull

So once I got all that done, my plan was to coat the outside of the hull in Raptor Liner, a DIY truck bed kit. I prepped the bare aluminum with acid etch, and sprayed the Raptor liner with 5% reducer at 80 psi. The finish was exactly what I was hoping for!

Then it was time to flip, apply the epoxy on the inside, and paint

After everything dried, it was time to trailer it and put it all together! I'll skip through all the troubleshooting that went down here, it was killer, but here's the finished product:

And there it is! Everything including the foam was redone. Hopefully I can report back with some fish on Saturday, watchin you guys fishing this spring has been KILLIN me
