Started out Friday fishing mid river,no reason to go anyplace else, lots of nice eater size walleyes 1 mile from the marina.
Stomp and Jim,started fishing same spot as Friday,we got 7 eyes and some junk fish and then the bite slowwwed down.tried the west side of Fighting Is,1 eye 4 smallmouth, time to move ,water is to clear and full of smallmouth.Time for a a scenic drive of the steel plants and up river we go.Fished in front of the casino and as Stomps report said...JACKPOT.Lots of fish biting and surprisingly mostly walleye.
Sunday it was a 45mph drive up the river to the casino, bingo, bango 25 walleye by 11am.
Again not as many junk fish as i thought there would be for this time of year.Kudos to everyone i fished with this weekend,we fished in 39 to 42 f.ow.you all did a awesome job keeping those lines straight in that depth of water, not a easy task for first timers on the D.
Day 4.....hey why not try fishing up by the casino? The bite was very good till about 10am,then we tried Sculpture Park, popped 1 walleye and then we went south of the Amb Bridge ,found another school of walleyes mixed with junk fish and it was game on again.Ended up boating 96 walleye over the 4 days.
I would like to say thanks to everyone who booked a jigging charter with me this season...and thanks to the old timers in the Lasalle marina that helped me launch my boat every trip, much appreciated. 17 trips 324 walleyes.I am starting to fish L.Erie this weekend out of Colchester Harbour.
