    Salt water

Hey Roostr: ye, you can take your fiberglass boat south. Safe trailering essential. Assuming your boat is 16' you can use it for bay fishing on the west coast of Florida or the Keys. Atlantic side possible, depending where you go. Best bet to learn about what your rig is capable of is to go to...

some help needed for Niagra river

There's a great boat ramp right at Queenston, with parking for your rig. Start right out in front of the docks. The forum should give you rigging tips. Great time of year to fish there. Best, Bassy

onshore perching (again) Aug 10 2013

Hey Packrat: if possible, could you provide a general location where you were fishing? Not looking for your hot spot, but the type of shoreline, depth you were fishing. Appreciate any feedback! Thanks, Bassy

    Tactics for bows?

Try a three way swivel with a larger spoon on a 4 foot leader and a much smaller spoon on a 2 1/2 foot leader - it looks like a bigger fish chasing a minnow and seems to really work for the bows... Bassy

    Help

Strongly second the Lady Evelyn recommendation - it's great camping, with lots of variety of camping locations and room. Also, if you are willing and able to traverse really challenging portages, you can get to back lakes that have unbelievably good bass and walleye fishing. You would need a...

    LF Fishing Eyes near Colchester

Hey CF - try worm harnesses with some lead core inline. Check the posts here for how to do it. Use a planer board for trolling; planer boards are an effective trolling tactic and easier to use than downriggers. If you make it out to any of the Sisters Islands - make sure you troll the windward...

Lake O; Mon., August 6 - off Credit River

Headed out for a shot at Salmon and Bows Monday. Volvo inboard had momentary overheating problems - great to be fishing with 2 of Toronto's best HVAC guys, Mike and Jeff from MAGTECH. Problem resolved, began trolling, and thanks to this board and Erie experience it paid off. Fished 120 FOW down...

    Tying lead core

To add to Chromeseeker's comment, make your connecting knot a Bimini twist - think of tieing an improved clinch knot to another ick. This connection is easiest in terms of line off and on the reel, and it's strong. Best, Bassy

    Port Burwell Bows

Hey all: I agree with the point about Erieau - after July 1. From a tactic perspective you want to run a 3-way swivel with a longer lead of mono and a bigger spoon, and a shorter lead of mono with a small, small spoon - it's a bit of a "match the hatch" game in terms of the forage base... Hope...
