somehow just realized that you said it was a 40 yd shot. That's amazing. Did the bolt pass through? My Excalibur shoots at 350 fps, is 40 yds still within range?

I shoot a cheap PSE coalition it's 380fps and apparently can shoot 100yrds though I haven't tried. Furthest I shoot is 60 yards and my bolt still passes through my block and no word of a lie has zero drop at 60yrds. Now I wouldn't take a deer from that distance max being 40-50. Yes the shot hit the deer left side just behind front shoulder sent broad head through 2 rib bones/ double lung shot. Bolt passed through sitting on ground, Broadhead was toast..40 yards for the bow Wouldn't be an issue for any animal it's instant death. Only cost 4 something low side with tax comes with lighted scope arrows quiver and a bag great deal.
