Great day to be on the bay, lots of perchers on the water, Son Abe and I first stopped south of EC6 and picked up a couple of 3-4lb. pike then ran out to the bar and and lucked into about 14 more pike all in the 3-6lb. range and one nice one a few ounces short of 12lb. (36" long and 5" or better across the top) "What a day"15471

Nice gator @LAVA (y) What are the water temps in the bar now? It was in the mid 60's pottahawk out to the bar and high 50's in the bay, TP and Normandale last weekend.

We got a 41 incher in the inner bay today , what a hog !! Didn’t get a weight but it was thick

Measure the length and girth of the fish. Then use this formula to calculate the approx weight. It's usually very close to the actual weight.
Girth X Girth X Length ÷ 800 = Weight
We used that formula last week salmon fishing in BC. Back on shore we weighed it with the lodge's scale and the weight was about a 1/4lb off.
24 X 24 X 42 ÷ 800. = 30.24LBS. On the analog scale it showed 30.5Lbs.

Sorry John, our transducer has a temp. probe built into it so it basically just reads surface temp therefore we dont pay attention to it.

Thanks for the formula Dan, we always have a scale on board. The thickness across the top of this one wowed us also, this one went for several good sprints and we were engaged for over 5 minutes before landing it so it took a good while to fully revive it , but it was more rewarding to watch it swim off as it was to catch
