Years back I was always tempted to do that far pier.lots of perch at times out there and half way out that rock pile.some boats still fish out there at times thou just off that pier
Every year at this time I'd be fishing Delaware area near the rez from last few days in march into about 23 of april i miss those days.not sure why they didn't keep it the same from what it was
Of course you can bottom bounce for them.im sure on a calm day you can jig them too. 1 ounce jig would be my choice to maintain bottom contact and a 4 inch twister tail and the plastic minnow baits they use in Detroit river would certainly work.
You don't have to go that far out to peeler.just fish Colchester in 20 25 ft.its not far from shore.lots of fish coming out of Detroit river now tell mid june
