    Did anyone hunt the December controlled hunt?

    We did the Dec blackpowder hunt in 92A. Our camp is just outside of Ailsa Craig..we have 100++ acres of mixed hardwood and heavy reforestation, plus the surrounding 500++ acres.     Off to the North!

    Lake Nipigon, Onaman River to be exact. Moose hunt, but the walleye right at the camp are usually thick..and the road chickens aka partridge...are just as thick. I spend more time with those 2 than the moose. Ill post results in a couple weeks!!

    Pepperette Day

    Pepperette day yesterday! 10lbs venison to 5 lbs pork shoulder. Grind, spices, pink cure, into the stuffer then into the smoker for 5 hrs. Overnight in the fridge, ready to cut and bag this am. They don't last long!!

    No walleye...

    ...but they did have some ling/turbot. Steelheads is short of walleye..even frozen...but they had a great alternative! I'll post how it turns out..but I love Ling!

Theyre in the plastic Plano boxes, and I carry them in a huge Cabelas duffel that is made to store the boxes, but its way over its limit..I need at least one more duffel. I have a ton of venison and moose burg, so tried making bacon..lots of recipes online but basic.. 5 lbs mixed venison/moose burg 2 lbs pork ground shoulder curing salt spices..I used hickory spice from Princess Auto jerky package Mix meat well with curing salt, spices...
