What to use as a terminal from downrigger cable to fish hawk probe?

Hi, I ve seen a ball and a probe and a ball lost due to a heavy duty snap not closed ( but they thought it was closed :)
That is the reason I wanted to avoid a use of heavy duty snap to attach a probe and a ball
I ended up getting a 300 lb Spro split ring that fits the Scotty clip perfect. .
The Scotty clip is self locking and also a setup and disassembly are instant. Bern using it all last season and very happy with a setup
