The Bay of Empty

Figured with the warmer temps this weekend a co worker and I would head to the bay of empty for a quick fish before dark. There was between 6-8" of good ice to be found, and we noticed right away the crappie were suspended and had lock jaw, the perch on the other hand were down in the weeds and willing to play. Again I lost the tallboy bets as he caught the first and biggest perch of the evening (all released to fight another day), a good way to end the work week (y)

@Extra Virgin while you were ice fishing yesterday,I was spending money at the London Fishing and Boat Show yesterday afternoon. lol :ROFLMAO::D?Excellent photo’s,(with the “thumbs up”), & report again & also “thumbs up” back to the both of you!! ??;) Great to know that all the fish caught were released & if everyone else would do that there at the ”bay of empty” then one day,it will be called,”the bay of plenty” and be safe if you are still going to venture out onto the ice & tight lines!! ????

hey @Red Hering i thoyght you weren't going to the boat show,,,i'm going this aft with the misses... is it worth going after you bought out the whole show..lol..
@poconokidII I guess because the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show that I am thinking of going to,is still a ways away,I needed to see some kind of updated tackle, fish finders, etc.,and the walleye fishing hasn’t peaked yet on the thames river, therefore I haven’t contacted you till hopefully the walleye season does pick up,as we discussed previously,so that we could meet up on the river. The Bluewater Anglers Club which I am a member of for many years, have a booth set up at this show.It was nice to socialize with some of the members again last friday from the club.9A76DB56-910E-4FA8-B719-9E7533D2DBE8.jpeg Enjoy the show to the both of you & I did leave some lure’s,etc.,there for you since last friday. ;) ?:giggle:

The show is about the same as last year, good to get out for a few hours. Mini me found our new boat, only 100k but it had a toilet dad.....

Went out for another quick fishing trip to the bay of empty this afternoon after work. The ice has actually held up well with the warm weather still between 6-8" of ice. The fish didn't want to bite as the crappie were still having suspended lock jaw syndrome and my perch weed patch I found was vacant today because Mr bass decided to prowl around it, stop for a selfie and turn its nose up at my delicious Williams platter ?‍♂️ (my crappie photo was crappy today compared to the bass glamour shot)

@Extra Virgin nice photo’s,especially the first photo of the largemouth bass having a peek into your camera. Also your “thumbs up” photo of course as well. ??;) It looks like that the ice will stay around for awhile there, because the winter has come back starting today with plenty of snow and colder temperatures being forecasted, Maybe the crappie will bite on the bay of empty the next time & hopefully tight lines for you. ???:)

I took the boy out for a shot at the bay of empty yesterday and went to the same weed bed my loch ness bass has been hiding out, dropped a tungsten jig with a live wax worm down one hole and the camera down another..... the sum bitch did another camera selfie, vacuumed the jig in and quickly spat it out like a kid eating vegetables! We did have a great time out on the ice and who knew "screens" and outdoors do go together?

I kept all my gear in the truck and gave the bay one more shot after work today, same spot now loaded with distant crappie and a selfie taking perch! the photos today were quite grainy I am still figuring this underwater camera out. might give it another go at the butt crack of dawn before work tomorrow....

@Extra Virgin ... give this a shot to clear up the picture... used to do something similar back in the 80's with tin foil on the cable tv cord to descramble Pay TV

Ah yes, scrambled 80's adult tv. If only my A-team bead sheets and Alf posters could talk.....
