Cottage roll, cabbage, carrots, bay leaves, peppercorns, and a few crushed garlic cloves. Brought to boil and then turned down to a high simmer for about three hours. Throw in some quartered potatoes about a half hour before done.
Pulled out the cottage roll, covered in a glaze of brown sugar and mustard and under the broiler for a few minutes .
Lots of butter salt and pepper and all was good
