Perchin'

This maybe a silly question but when out on lake Erie in 25' to 40' of water what excatly are you looking for when deciding to stop and try to get some of those beautiful jumbos?

The lake's a flat muck bottom for the most part. If you're driving slow you may mark fish on the bottom as a hump or change in depth. If you're parked you don't always see singles if they're right on the bottom, but if a school comes through you will mark them about the same time they bite, especially if you can zoom the bottom. There's not much structure that I've seen and the fish seem to roam so if I'm not marking fish or getting bites in 15-20 minutes I move.
