Mine was a 1988 Starcraft SS 180 with a 100 hp Merc 2+2...same boat as in the picture. I had Cannon mini-mag electrics, Lowrance graph, Locan-C...great boat even with the problems inherent with rotting wood decks etc. Put a lot of Pt. Glascow and Erieau walleye in that boat ..and learned a bunch about fishing 12 miles offshore on Lake Erie when it blows up...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice those boats were the weekly prize in the Toronto Summer Salmon Search in the 90's only in a centre console. My Smoker Craft Sea Monster had two mini Mags also.

My buddy had a 14ft Thornes , was the floor not sky blue on your boat or did you paint it?

Oh I sanded the whole thing down, fixed a couple leaks , reinforced all the seats with aluminum angle pieces and yes painted it afterwards. When I got it it looked like that, picked up a little 2 hp Honda for the back lakes too.

And yes the floor under another layer of paint was an aweful robin egg blue ...

Ya the springbok 12 & 14 ft and Thornes were popular aluminum fishin boats..fished many of times in them..also trolling the thames river every spring

back in the day shoppin for a new boat made right here in Canada..there were a few good choices in the mid 80s ...I also seriously considered buying a Grew... looked at the Thundercraft..my uncle bought a 1986 Cadorette with a 140 merc inboard and docked it right beside me in stanley..lol
Including Tom Crawfords wilker boats made it easy walkin in and order a boat on the spot in Hyde Park London ...
fellow 68 member has a really nice classic thundercraft..

Some here come from and remember the smoking hot camero, firebird and mustang etc, era..
