late afternoon rip in the deep rich waters of LPB with a pleasant breeze out of the east.
Couldn't pull a fish or take a hit unless we rolled east. Tried going west from 1.8-3.6mph..then north & south and nothing.. Only while going east into the breeze.
Washed Harness, cranks & spoons.. all spoon.
Sampled leadcore ,dipsy & braid/snap weight offerings...all core.

2.5mph..while due east..up hill,against the wind.

As nobody seems to be bothered to clarify the obvious thing I took my diligence …
I’m not familiar with many abbreviations and slang expressions common on this forum, but I couldn’t even think about Long Point Bay given the fact of rainbows presented in the catch.
I would expect them to be rather deep than in shallow waters close to Long Point.
If people here still Ok to clarify my ignorance, may I ask what area around Long Point is considered as Long Point Bay?
Thank you!

Sorry it was busy day, No time to check the funny pages but I see Tyler0420 got you sorted out & in the right direction.

I'm very surprised. According to Navionics there is only about 33 FOW. Interesting.
The deepest part of the lake is in the eastern basin where depth ranges from 30ft to 210 ft with the deepest waters being closer to Buffalo.

Deepest waters are actually closer to the point. 6mi south east of the lighthouse is 210ft according to the charts.
That's what I thought too, but then I read this in that link I posted up there.
  • The deepest parts are in the northeast, near Buffalo, NY.
How they define "near Buffalo" could be different than how we define it because I'd agree that just off the point isn't exactly "near Buffalo"

Of course, I have Navionics and know the depths in the lake.
But I did not expect that rainbow will be in relatively shallow water close to the shore. I expected them to be somewhere in open water, around middle of the lake between North and South shores.

You posted this 2 minutes after your question? Sorry but we're not AI. Some of us aren't even natural intelligence...

Anyways yes Long Point Bay. Off the point near the lighthouse it drops to 100+ pretty quickly. Lots of rainbows there.
Sorry, I think there is a mistake either from my side, my PC or the forum site’s.
I waited a day or more until I started my own search about LPB.
Maybe I thought that I posted it but did not and posted it automatically when I wrote another post.
Sorry for that. But I was not aggrieved or upset in any way. I assume this is a forum where people post and reply when they want, have time and the right mood for that. I do not pretend that my questions have to be answered, no. Just humbly asking.

That article is written by Chat GPT. you can tell because it keeps making the same points over and over again like it's introducing them for the first time. Also it just doesn't sound human written.

There are pretty cool tools these days to detect AI written text.. with AI (Oh the irony)

Well, I think the key point to consider is that AI does not make or produce information (does not perform any physical research or studies). It just collects info from different sources.
Doing my medical/biological research (for my own interests) I see dozens of AI proposals from Google search daily. It is convenient as it also gives you the source of info which you can read and decide if it is trustful study or not.
AI is a convenient tool to use as long as you have critical thinking. That’s actually exactly the case when you get info from chatting with your neighbor. No difference.
Sorry, this is way OFF the initial topic.
