Elbow/Lighthouse Wednesday July 20th

Headed out to the Elbow at approx. 8:00am and set up with two downriggers. Washed off a variety of spoons but managed to get two rainbows and a laker. One caught on a blue and silver ripplin redfin rigged with a worm. Others caught on watermelon and black/orange spoons. The fish were taken over approx. 105ft of water, 45-55ft down. We trolled toward the lighthouse but nothing caught in that area. Also picked up the usual quota of sheephead. Came back in at 2pm. Marked the some fish at 35ft mark but couldn't get them to hit.

Thanks for the report. There was no shortage of fish showing on the sonar last time we were out but other than sheephead, not many releases.

Thanks for the report.

Nice to see a laker caught out there.
We are going to give it a go this upcomming week as I finally have holidays. Will post the results.
Previous years we have found a number of fish straight north of the lighthouse trolling 80 to 110 FOW. Nothing quite like burwell/bruce but still good days.

Hopefully this is the start of the upswing to the fishery in the outer bay.
