A better day of Bass fishing on Long Point Bay

I arrived on the water by 7 a.m. and I didn’t leave the inner bay till 5 p.m.I would of stayed even longer to fish for largemouth bass along the reeds before dark,when they usually become more active then,if it wasn’t for the 1 1/2 hour drive back home.The inner bay was a lot better for boating and not as “bumpy” compared to the opening of bass season,(2nd photo),when I was there the last time.I started trolling in the main channel for approximately 45 minutes with no luck.From there I worked my way this side of Pottahawk Point in the inner bay and that is where I caught my first smallmouth bass.??? I trolled for a little while longer,but no luck.The wind picked up a bit,(perfect!!),and I drift fished with leeches,where I ended up catching 4 more smallmouth bass.The bite lasted roughly about 2 hours then it was over.I tried different spots in that area,but no luck,but I am definitely not complaining for it was a fantastic smallmouth bass bite while it was on!! ? My biggest smallmouth bass that I caught was just under 19 inches,and could that have been one of @stomp bass that he said that he released last thursday for @Red Hering to catch?? lol If so,a big thanks @stomp !!??? The wind then died down totally,and then came the bugs!! ?The wind did eventually picked up a little bit again.There were charter boat’s out on the bay as well.I ended up the afternoon by fishing the reeds with my electric motor for largemouth bass and pike,but the once that I did catch were small,and not worth taking photo’s of.The water level has dropped down considerably from the last time I was at Sandboy Marina,where I ended up buying a couple dozen of leeches before driving home for my next bass fishing trip,which will likely be on Lake Huron the next time.All the best and tight lines to all!!?????

Thanks @Wave Runner I wasn’t as tired as last weekend when I slept in my truck on friday night for 5 hour’s with mosquitoes buzzing around my head,while I was waiting for the opening of bass season last saturday morning.I was more “Focused” yesterday,and the 5 bass that I ended up catching,had no chance!! lol ???

Very true @stomp solo all the way!! lol just on a side note,I did invite @Wave Runner to fish the opening of bass season with me,but he told me that he hasn’t fished for bass in 20 years!! Therefore he declined my invitation to fish with @Red Hering on the bass opener on my boat.It’s all good & tight lines & Bass ON!! ? ???

Hello red herring, I am back in London after 7 years near sunbury.

Was out of port Bruce Thursday fished 3 1/2 hours 2 nice walleye.
50-58' water fish hit dipsey 70' out about 20' down blue spoon.
Going out tomorrow early will post results.

@Summeroff welcome back to the south from near Sudbury,and here I thought that you were retiring there,(not enough walleye’s in the North?? lol just kidding),after you completed your time working there.You are just in time,because the walleye’s are starting to show up here in the central basin of Lake Erie,as you likely know.It’s good to have you back,and we will keep in touch.(pm me anytime).Good luck tomorrow,(I am waiting for this long weekend,(too crowded for my liking) to go by,before I fish again and walleye’s ON!!????
