    Photo-map showing Hastings Drive

    As there have been quite a few questions about the location of Hastings and Big Dave's honey hole for perch, here is a photo-map showing Hastings and the exact spot where BD catches all of those perch ( if you can't find that exact spot, just look for BD's boat and anchor right next to him or...

    Perchin' w/ Big Dave, July 29

    Perchin with Big Dave yesterday was slow compared to our last trip, but he kept moving till we finally found a hot spot. We kept 275 perch in 5.5 hours fishing and at least 50% of those came in the last hour or so. A Funny Story: We hadn't been fishing for 15 minutes when here comes a boat...

    Perchin' with Big Dave -- AWESOME!

    Six of us met Dave at the end of Hastings this morning at 7:15am and we were fishing by 7:45. Started a bit "slow", but pretty soon it was fast and furious with lots of doubles on beautiful perch. We had 350 in the cooler and iced in 3 hours. One of my buddies said after we'd hauled the...

    Inner Bay Perchin' -- Monday,July 18

    Five of us loaded up with minnows and leeches at Old Cut Marina with a plan to fish for bass around EC 3 and then to head for Pottohawk for perch. So, we started drifting on the flats between EC5 and EC3 south of the weed line. First one of us and then another hauled in a jumbo and we...

    Bluff Bar Perchin' -- July 5

    Got a tip from a very knowledgable angler that the perch were biting at Bluff, so 3 of us headed out there this am. To my amazement, there was only one boat there when we arrived at 10:30 and they were fishing for bass at the tip. We set up about 1 km from the green buoy in 16 FOW. About 3...

    Normandale Perchin'-- July 2

    Three rods x 2 hours = 115 perch ( 8" - 13" ) = = 19lbs of fillets. We were fishin' in 14 FOW. There were only ~ 15 boats, but everyone was "smokin" the perch.

    Bass Opener

    Landlocked bought Sandi and me a couple of 2.5" A.C.Shiners because the guy at Angling Outfitters said that they were "the best bait anywhere for trolling for smallmouth bass". Well, I don't know if that's true, but we did have 9 in the box in the first hour and finished up 25 minutes later...

    Pottohawk Perchin' -- (June 6)---> June 18

    Just had to try out the new perchin' pole that I bought from Jimmy, so after a stop at Ray Ferris's for some minnows, Sandi and I headed for Pottohawk. Anchored in 10 FOW straight out from the gap in the trees and in 2 hours we had 84 perch, 8" - 13" = 15 lbs of fillets. Yep, it's a good...
