When you fellows think is a good time to start fishing for pickerel in Erie Long point to Burwell area? I have had success in June before. The drive further south/west is too much for a day. For now I still have a bit of Erie Pickerel in freezer. Was dinner tonight. See you on the water.
That time of year. I see a few guys still out. It is great fishing if you can do it. Got to pick the good days now.
Great info on this page (thanks Stomp, even though you wear those funny croc shoes and like to swim at the wrong time.)
All my outings were successful this year. Just not out...
Fished in the morning. 4 pickerel, 1 rainbow, couple throw backs. Nice ride out early. Got choppy on way back. All on spoons on lead core 40 to 50 feet down. Time to fire up the smoker for the bow.
Fished this morning. Hard to find fish. Managed 2 rainbow, 2 pickerel, (lost two) one 14lb released laker. All around 50-55 fow. Rainbows were up higher. All on body baits. Flys were not bad at all today.
Been out there tues and thursday. No pickeral to show. Just silvers and baahaas. Had enough of those. Was very windy both days and off the lake by 11 A:M. Wish I had last week off. Sure hope it goes back to the better.
Started at the Elbow. Got into pickeral closer to the light house. Most fish were approx 30feet down. The depth of water varied but all pickeral caught were on a faster troll using spoons. Lots of silver bass caught as well. And of course a few sheepies...
Taking a few rods down. Going deep sea, at least twice.
Bringing steel line and salmon lures. Spin docter/ fly.

Any tips. Besides tip the capt.
