Wind check sites

Hey guys,

What are your go to sites to check the winds for burwell? Looking to go out Wednesday.

Thank you,

Frank

I use windfinder an accuweather hourly forecast

@FrankReynolds… Windy.com says Wed. morning 6 am N 18kph so not too bad going out with wave action and will start to drop at 9 am then down to 6 kph NE by 10am then, at noon switching picking up a bit from the south. Both Windfinder and SailFlow saying close to the same but could change before Wed. comes. Thurs. looks even better which is my next day out if it holds. Good luck if you go. :)

These are the sites I use:

https://www.wunderground.com/weather/pws:IONCOPEN2 I go to this one to get somewhat of an idea and see the weather map it gives, then I click on the 10 day and it gives temps, wind speed and direction, and a bunch of other things, THEN I go

https://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45132 here and check what the weather buoy south of Pt Stanley says, THEN I go

https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/alerts/high-alert/ontario/london here and type in Pt Bruce and see what it says, THEN I go

https://www.windy.com/42.653/-81.008?41.725,-81.008,7,m:eQgadT8 here and see what it says, THEN I go

https://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/on-137_metric_e.html here to see the weather radar and check for watches and warnings again, THEN

I look out the window to see what the trees are doing and then I decide if I'll go fishin or not.

I forgot, I also watch the CTV local news most nights to see what they say is going to happen. I figure one of them has to be close. Almost every time its none of the websites that determine the decision, it's what my eyes tell me when I look at the trees . However, there have also been many times where my eyes say yep go because there is not much of a breeze at all here at home, but when I get down to the lake, yeah different story. Wind is blowing fairly good and not at all from the direction or at the strength those sites said it would. The first one, (wunderground) is usually pretty accurate up to 2-3 days out. After that, I usually don't trust any forecast because they always change by the time the 3rd day arrives.
