Left Posts Marina at 6:15 am after refueling and some worms and off into the sunrise for the Elbow.
Got setup at about 7:00 am in 60’ with 6 poles with worm harnesses back 30-40’ and added a 2 oz weight and another 50-60’ out. Wasn’t long before the action started.
We went 10 for 13 and the largest weighed in at 6.12 lbs @ 29”. Had a newbie with my son and myself and he lost the 3 due to reeling them in fast. But he soon learned to take the time to reel them in.
We called it quits at 10:30 only because of the bugs were bothering them.
We stayed in the 60-80’ of water which was showing a lot of fish above the 35’ depth.
We stopped at the Bluffs for a swim and clean the smudged bugs off the floor on the inside of the bar in 5’ of water. I’ve never seen so many smallie along the bar before. But we never tried for any as I haven’t put back any of my poles from being up at Timberwolf.
